Chainsaw Kittens
Clint McBay first gained prominence as the bassist for the Chainsaw Kittens, a band formed in Norman, Oklahoma, in the late 1980s. The Chainsaw Kittens were known for their eclectic sound, combining elements of glam rock, punk, and alternative rock. McBay’s energetic bass playing and stage presence contributed significantly to the band’s unique sound and live performances.
The Chainsaw Kittens released several albums throughout the 1990s, including Flipped Out in Singapore (1992) which received critical acclaim for their bold experimentation and catchy melodies. McBay’s role in the band helped define their innovative approach to music, making them a staple of the alternative rock scene.
For Love Not Lisa
In addition to his work with the Chainsaw Kittens, Clint McBay was also a key member of For Love Not Lisa, an alternative rock band formed in 1990. As the band’s bassist, McBay played a crucial role in shaping their sound.
For Love Not Lisa gained national recognition with their debut album, Information Superdriveway (1995). The band’s song “Slip Slide Melting” was featured on the soundtrack of the film The Crow, which further elevated their profile.
