For Love Not Lisa

Michael Lewis first gained widespread attention as the frontman for For Love Not Lisa, an alternative rock band formed in Oklahoma City in 1990. The band quickly established a loyal fanbase with their energetic performances and emotionally charged music. Lewis’s powerful vocals and evocative lyrics were at the heart of the band’s sound, helping to define their identity and connect with audiences.

For Love Not Lisa released their debut album, Merge, in 1993, followed by the critically acclaimed Information Superdriveway in 1995. Their music, characterized by a fusion of heavy guitar riffs and melodic elements, captured the essence of the era’s alternative rock movement. The band’s track “Slip Slide Melting” was featured in the soundtrack of the film The Crow, further cementing their place in rock history.

 

Puller

Following his success with For Love Not Lisa, Michael Lewis went on to form Puller, a band that allowed him to explore new musical directions. Puller, active during the late 1990s and early 2000s, was known for its post-grunge sound, blending elements of alternative rock with introspective lyrics and intricate melodies.

With Puller, Lewis continued to showcase his songwriting talents and musical versatility. The band released several albums, including Sugarless (1996), Closer Than You Think (1998), and What’s Mine at Twilight (2001). Each album demonstrated Lewis’s growth as a musician, exploring diverse themes and sounds while maintaining the raw energy that characterized his earlier work.
